[Iowa DOT] 493007: Application for Non-Resident Motor Truck Display Permit

A non-resident motor truck dealer, who is authorized by a written contract with a manufacturer or distributor of new motor trucks to sell at retail, may display motor trucks within this state at qualified events approved by the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Must provide evidence from the state which the motor truck dealer is licensed in that verifies an Iowa licensed dealer can be issued a substantially similar permit.

The event must meet all of the following conditions:

The sale of motor vehicles is not allowed during the qualified event.

The qualified event is conducted in a controlled area and is not open to the public generally.

The qualified event generally promotes the motor truck industry.

The qualified event is conducted within the area of responsibility that is specified in the motor

vehicle dealer?s contract with the manufacturer or distributor.

The sale of a motor truck at a Motor Truck Display shall not be completed and an agreement for the sale of a motor truck shall not be signed at the event. All such sales shall be consummated at the motor vehicle dealer's place of business.
